Editing: Finding the right music

Image
I purposely took videos in clips so it would be easier for me to edit. I could've used a camera but I figured it would be less stressful trying to edit the film if I used my phone and edited the film with iMovie. Once I finished shooting, I dragged all the videos to iMovie. Then I decided what videos needed to go and what videos could stay. After that I trimmed the videos due to the time limit. Then I added a few transitions to make the film look smooth and not choppy. After, I checked the length of the film and saw that the adding the transitions add a couple more seconds then I needed. I went back and shortened the transition times and trimmed a few seconds off each video. I added the Gatorade slogan in the closing scene. I reviewed the film and noticed that it was missing something. I added some background music. This part was kind of hard because it was a bit difficult to find good music. either the music was too joyful or too gloomy. I needed to find a good up beat song. I wen...

The process of filming

Image
On Wednesday, the 28 I starting filming. My sister helped me throughout the film. Everything I needed I could find in my house. I didn't run in to any issues or problems there. We shot the film in parts to make the editing processes easier. The first scene was simple. I had to fake wake up, which was kind of funny because it was kind of hard, and I wanted my acting skills to be on point so my commercial looked good. In the second scene it was kind of difficult to find the camera angle I wanted, but I figured it out. The acting potion was pretty easy, I just went with the flow. In the third scene, all I had to do was pick y workout clothes out which is apart of my daily routine anyway. The fourth scene was a little bit tougher to get the camera steady because I was driving. I tried to keep a good pace so the camera wasn't so wabbly. When I got to the field I took out the equipment that I needed and set everything up. The fifth scene was easy to shoot because I normally do...

Research blog: Commercial Convention

I've decided to do a Gatorade commercial. In most sport drink commercials, the audience witnesses people or a person partaking in a physical activity that would require them to need a refreshing drink.    The actors would wear athletic wear like, sneakers, shorts, leggings, loose or compression shirt, to accommodate the physical activity that they would be doing.  Props include workout equipment like, a ladder, bands, etc. The appearance makes it seem like they've been working out for a while and putting in hard work.  The commercials are often quick and start to the point. 1. Conventions ad Codes in Gatorade commercials include the Gatorade sample, as well as their " The sports fuel company. When you give everything,  Gatorade  gives it back. Life is a sport" slogan.  2. These commercials usually include ethos, by showing a famous athlete, actor, or someone of great significance.
